Welcome to - From The Pit
What is “From The Pit”
There’s a moment in every show that most folks never quite catch.
It ain’t always the loudest note or the biggest chorus. Sometimes it’s that breath right before the first chord rings out. Sometimes it’s a glance passed between bandmates when everything falls into place like it was meant to. Sometimes it’s a lone songwriter standing under a tired light, telling the kind of truth you don’t hear unless you’re willing to listen close.
That’s where I tend to find myself.
From The Pit is where those moments live.
This isn’t just a place for photographs. It’s a running account of the North Georgia music scene as I’ve come to know it. The people, the rooms, the long nights, and the ones that leave a mark on you whether you meant for them to or not. Every frame I capture carries a story, and most of those stories don’t make it past the stage unless somebody takes the time to tell them.
I’ve been lucky enough to stand in front of a great many stages, from quiet corners to rooms full of noise and sweat, watching artists give everything they’ve got to a crowd that didn’t know they needed it until that very moment. What I aim to hold onto isn’t just how it looked, but how it felt to be there when it happened.
This is where I’ll put those stories down.
You’ll find nights that can’t be summed up by a setlist. Little moments that slipped in between songs. Folks chasing something just out of reach, night after night, because they don’t know how not to. You’ll meet artists who may never see their names in bright lights, but shine just the same when it counts.
This is for the bands hauling their gear through the back door.
This is for the songwriters telling the truth whether it hurts or not.
This is for the rooms full of people who still believe in live music.
Most of all, this is for the moments that come and go before you can get your hands around them.
I’ll be there when they do.
Right where I’ve always been.
From the pit.
